Wright County Egg Salmonella Lawsuits and Litigation

In August 2010, eggs produced by Wright County Egg of Galt, Iowa were determined to be contaminated with Salmonella Enteritidis (SE).  The company initiated a massive, two-stage recall of 380 million eggs. On August 20, a second Iowa egg producer, Hillandale Farms, launched an additional recall of 170 million eggs, bringing the total nationwide to 550 million. The CDC reported 1,609 cases of SE in the outbreak linked to eggs from both companies.  Victims were confirmed nationwide.

Marler Clark represented several victims of an outbreak of Salmonella Enteritidis at the Baker Street Restaurant and Pub in Kenosha, Wisconsin.  That outbreak was matched to the Wright County Egg strain of SE.  The firm filed multiple Salmonella lawsuits against the egg producers and represented many victims of the nationwide outbreak.  All claims brought on behalf of victims of the outbreak were resolved.
